JUDr. Zuzana SMÍTKOVÁ, Ph.D

Education
A graduate of the Faculty of Law at Charles University in Prague. She successfully completed her Masters degree in 1997 and, during her studies, she took an environmental law course in Budapest in Hungary in 1996. In 2003 she completed her postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Law at Charles University in Prague and was awarded the titles JUDr. and Ph.D. In her doctoral work she focused on current issues related to leasing apartments and non-residential spaces in the Czech Republic.

Career
In 1997 she entered the law firm of JUDr. Petr Toman as an articled clerk. She became a barrister in 2000. JUDr. Zuzana Smítková, Ph.D. is registered in the list of barristers maintained by the Czech Bar Association under No. 8695.
In her advocacy work she focuses in particular on private law, mainly in the fields of real estate and trading companies. She also has experience from numerous contentious proceedings in diverse fields of law and not restricted to Czech courts but also in international arbitration (arbitration proceedings before the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris). As counsel or representative of injured parties she also provides legal services to clients in criminal proceedings. She also prepares legal analyses and standpoints for clients.

Other activities
Since 2003 she has occasionally cooperated as legal adviser during the creation of the program “Občanské Judo” on TV Nova.
