HOW PRICES OF LEGAL SERVICES ARE DETERMINED
The value of legal services is governed by two legal regulations. The first is Decree No. 177/1996 Coll., on Lawyers’ Fees and Reimbursement for Providing Legal Services (Lawyers’ Tariff Rates). In compliance with this decree, lawyers may either negotiate the price of their legal services and come to an agreement as to its amount or determine this fee on the basis of the extra-contractual fee specified in this Decree.
For the purposes of calculating the reimbursement in relation to representation in court proceedings, the Ministry of Justice issued Decree No. 484/2000 Coll., specifying the amount of the flat fee with the target of determining the amount of the cost reimbursement in relation to legal representation in civil court proceedings. (Decree of Flat Fee Application). The rates contained in this Decree are used only within court proceedings in order to determine lump sum reimbursement.
In the legal profession, charges are most frequently based on hourly rates. Click here to get more information about our price policy.
